Categories
Linnx does not set any categories for you. Every category in your account was created by you, in the app or through your AI client.
Three separate sets
They do not cross over: a chat category cannot be used on a post, and a post category cannot be used on a connection request.
Chat categories
A chat can carry up to three categories at once.
Creating one
Two places:
- The left menu, next to Inbox
- The right hand sidebar of any open chat, in the categories area
A category created in either place is available everywhere immediately.
Assigning one
Three ways:
- The right hand sidebar of an open chat, in the categories area
- Drag a chat from the inbox onto a category in the left menu
- Ask your AI client to do it over the MCP
Removing one
Click the assigned category again, in the same place you assigned it. There is no separate remove control: assigning and removing are the same click.
Pinning
Hover a category in the left menu and open the menu button that appears next to it, then choose Pin to top. Unpinning works the same way.
Pinning is how you decide what the left menu shows first. Use it for the two or three you file into every day.
Renaming
Renaming changes the label everywhere at once. Every chat already carrying that category keeps it and shows the new name. Nothing is retagged.
Colour
Each category is given a colour automatically when it is created. Change it any time from the menu button next to the category in the left menu.
Post categories
A post carries one category. Assigning a second replaces the first.
Once your posts are categorised, the analytics page breaks reach and engagement down by category, so you can see which kind of content performs.
Connection request categories
A connection request carries one category. Assign it as you triage.
Deleting a category
Deleting a category does not delete anything tagged with it. Chats, posts and requests stay exactly where they are. They stop showing that label until you assign a different one.
Categories and your AI client
Categories are shared between the app and the MCP connector. A category added in the app is available to your AI client immediately, and one your AI client creates appears in your menu.
Your AI client reads your existing categories before assigning anything. It creates a new one only when you ask it to.
